Late Night Recordings
A collection of self-made music for no purpose other than to listen
What are Late Night Recordings?
In an effort to get back in touch with my musical side of my brain, and to get back in touch with my vocal training, I present to the world Late Night Recordings. Where I sit down at a microphone, hit record and see what comes up. I don't think things will be the same night to night, but who knows! I'm taking a wild stab in the dark with a new opportunity to present myself on a different platform of stylings and music. Let me know what you think! My main idea is to keep the music raw as much as is possible with little additional processing than what I've found necessary. Yes, you may hear my breath, you may also hear a metro train go by, you might hear my roomies coming home, you might even hear the neighbor, who knows?! That's half the fun of something being alive and expressive.
All the love in the world,
J

Missing You |
After a hiatus from recording, I'm back at it. Felt down in the dumps at random, and wanted to get some music out of my mind. Here's Missing You an homage to my Great Aunt Blanche, the woman who garnered a fierce work ethic, demanded things be done the right way, and above all else, showed me the greatest support in the world.

Late Night: Thursday 4-28-2016After attempting Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Closer, and a few other songs, I finally said screw it, and went to my vocal jazz days, and pulled a little fun vocal percussion out of my back pocket. This doesn't go where one might expect it to at times, but I really had fun recording it.

Mary Did You Know? |
One of my favorite pieces from growing up in Catholic faith was this song, usually by my 6th grade teacher Mrs. Richmond. She used to give me goosebumps when singing this in our neo-gothic style church. Here's my attempt to even sing it half as well as she does.

Late Night: Saturday 3-19-2016.I begin. I found a great reverb processor I wanted to try out and felt a fusion of tribal chanting/ blues-esque motif going around and around in my brain. This is in two parts. Part 1- is the introduction with some stylings explored. Part 2- is the fully realized idea.
