Act 1 Scene 1 Transition into Scene 2

The first transition, out of the idea of normal and into Roy Cohn's office. Phones blaring wildly and finally reaching a cacophonous level they pierce right into the scene.

Harper's Hallucination

This is the first time we see Harper's Hallucinogenic world and understand that her ideas of normal are not quite on par with her Mormon husband Joe.

The Hallucination Scene

Prior Walter and Harper Pitt, two strange hallucinating fellows, brought together by the very threshold of revelation.

The Angel Speaks to Prior

This is the first time that the Angel, in her first variation speaks directly to Prior in his hallucination.

The Story of the Prior's Sinking 

After a disagreement of the minds about his lesions, Prior tells his lover Louis about one of his ancestors' journeys as a ship's captain who foundered off the coast of Nova Scotia.

Act 2 Scene 9, Breakups

Act 2 Scene 9 is the breakup scene, Harper decides she is leaving Joe, Louis tells Prior in his hospital room that he is also walking out on their relationship. 


Act 3 Scene 1 Introduction

Prior, devastated from his recent breakup with Louis is surprisingly visited by two Ancestors of the same name. In this comedic moment the Prior's all discuss the coming presence of the Angel.

Antarctica, The Hallucination

In Antarctica Harper's hallucination have finally shown just how far she has snapped from reality. She and Mr. Lies are stunned when she imagines a real, live Eskimo.

Ethel Rosenberg

Roy Cohn is not out of the woods he so desperately seeks to find refuge from. In a very dark moment in Act 3 he is visited by a woman he successfully prosecuted to eventually be sentenced to death by electric chair. Ethel Greenglass Rosenberg. She is a ghost with a passion for a haunting evening.

Act 3 Scene 6 Hallucination Dance

This dream dance sequence comes at the pinnacle of Prior's terror dreams. The ancestors have given him only a moment of respite in his spectral boyfriend Louis one more time. Here the music starts as the ancestors beg Prior to dance, it swells into the full orchestrations when Prior and Louis begin to dance around their world and instantly snaps out when Louis leaves Prior again.

The Angel Arrives

In all of her glory, the Angel's decent from heaven is made known to Prior very abruptly in his hallucinations.

Very Steven Spielberg

We join Prior's journey, out of body and all to see a mystifying and terrorizing reflection back upon the past journey with AIDS and see his life zoom away from him. 


The Comet Approaches

As the Angel plummets to the earth we hear the very real explosions of the world around Prior and begin to understand the magnitude that the Angel represents.

Millenium Approaches

As the Angel, in her four embodied characteristics arrives, we feel heaven that much closer to the earth, Prior's terror is absolutely real, and her "work" is just begun. We cut to black and curtain call rolls on.
